Happy New Year to all! 2022 started off in a mad sprint for me. Prepping We're Sinking and Toppings prototypes for MAGFest. I was up till 3 am the night before cutting stickers out and pressing buttons for handouts. If you saw my previous post, you know that I attended MAGFest January 6-9 as part of the MAGFest Indie Tabletop Showcase (MITS). We ran demos of We're Sinking and Toppings for 12 hours each day. This was not my first MAGFest but it was my first time with a table and unveiling Ludamus Games. I can't express how happy I was with the outcome. Despite the looming concerns of COVID cases spiking after the holidays, the event was vaccinated-only and masks required for the whole event. There was definitely a noticeable lower turnout this year but it was still a great turnout. There was almost no downtime at our table.
Special shout-out to the MAGFest staff and volunteers who worked day and night to make this event run smoothly. And a HUGE thank you to my Fiance, her sister, and brother-in-law who flew in from Alabama to help me run demos all weekend.
What's Next?
As far as conventions go for this year I would like to hit at least 2 more before our Kickstarter launch window for We're Sinking. We still don't have a definitive date set, but we are targeting Q3 2022. Here are some of the cons I'm considering attending:
UNPUB - (May 19-22) - Hunt Valley, MD
BGG CON Spring - (May 27-30) - Dallas, TX
Awesome Con - (June 3-5) - Washington DC
Origins - (June 8-12) - Columbus, OH
Which cons do you think I should attend? Am I missing any good ones? I've never attended any of these before.
Cheers,
-JF
