We're Sinking - Dev Diary #13
Origins Recap and New Artwork
This month, I spent a week in Columbus, Ohio at the Origins Game Fair for the first time and it was fantastic! We got to meet so many amazing people and eat some incredible food. (Looking at you North Market) While at the show, we received an incredible influx of kind words and enthusiasm for We're Sinking. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hi or play a game.
I spoke with David Waybright from Man Vs Meeple before Origins. He was kind enough to agree to do an interview with me and an overview of We're Sinking.
Here are some other Origins videos that covered We're Sinking.
I received some incredible feedback during the show and so when I got home from Origins I got to work on adding some new cards along with new artwork.
New Breaches Artwork
The breaches in the game previously were illustrated by me. I finally had Roman take a crack at illustrating them and wow they look so much better!
New Cannon Artwork
For quite some time the double and triple-shot cannons have been using the Single-shot artwork. But not anymore, they finally have their own look. I love how goofy the idea of stacking giant barrels between two wheels would somehow be an upgrade.
What are your thoughts on the new cards? Do you have a favorite?
I will be doing some more playtesting in July if you're in the area, come by and playtest!
Sunday, July 3 (3pm-6pm) - at The Crossroads Tabletop Tavern, Manassas VA
Sunday, July 17 (3pm - 8pm) - at Game Kastle, College Park, MD
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend GenCon this year due to some family obligations.
With these last pieces of artwork completed, we are closer and closer to a complete game. Over the next month, the priority list includes narrowing down a manufacturer, polishing the rulebook, ordering and building preview prototype copies and mailing them out to content creators ahead of the campaign. I also should have the Kickstarter preview page up, so keep an eye out for that.
Join our growing We're Sinking communities to follow along with development and share your excitement about the game!
