We're Sinking - Dev Diary #7
Closing Out the Year with New Artwork and Events!
Hey All, I hope everyone in the states had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know I promised another November, but December really flew at me fast!
As many of you may know, I am one of the board members of a small board game non-for-profit, called Break My Game. I'll be co-hosting playtesting events at The Crossroads Tabletop Tavern in Manassas, Virginia on the first Sunday of every month for the next year. I'm extremely excited and proud to be apart of this growing community of budding game designers. If you are in the area come say hello and playtest games with us!
It's official, Ludamus Games will have a table at the Board Game Indie Showcase during MAGFest, January 6-9, in National Harbor, MD. We will be demoing We're Sinking as well as playtesting Toppings all weekend long.
Lots of exciting artwork has been filling my inbox the past few weeks and I think it's time for to Introduce the illustrator of We're Sinking, Roman Novikov. Roman is a talented artist from Smolensk, Russia. Check out Roman's portfolio!
I teased some sketches last month, but here they are in their fully inked and colored glory! Meet the first four characters that players will get to play as in We're Sinking. We are still working out names so if you have ideas feel free to drop them in the comments below. There are two more characters to be revealed soon!
The item cards have come a long way from the blank silhouettes I used before. I am beyond happy with the items. We still have seven or eight more items illustrations to be created but I'm still in the playtesting process with them. These illustrations will be on cards and ready for demoing for the first time at MAGFest.
With that I'll leave you with something I've been working on while getting together marketing material for MAGFest and other conventions next year. I figured it was time for an official We're Sinking logo!
I can't promise it wont change again before the kickstarter, but I'm pretty happy with this for now.
Happy Holidays everyone! I'll see you for the next update in the new year!!
