We're Sinking - Dev Diary #6
Updates and Game Details
Hey everyone! October was crazy! Lot's happened and is STILL happening. The amount of things I wanted to cover has become way too much therefore I will be splitting this update up and providing another in a few weeks.
You may have noticed on some of the photos in the last update that I have new dials. Here's a closer look! I designed custom dials through The Game Crafter. On one side there's a plain compass, and on the other there are the four action icons to choose from. I'm not sold on this design but I do love that the text above each action is visible at all times, so choosing a an action and know which way to turn the dial is easy at a glance.
3D Printed Ship Prototype
While this is far from the final punchboard model. I thought I should model and print and mock-up to get a sense of how the ship will affect play. As shown in the video, each section easily sits on top of the rest. As the ship sinks the players will remove the lowest section.
I'm super excited to announce that I've finally brought on board an illustrator to help bring We're Sinking to life! I'll be spotlighting the artist in a future update. Here's a little teaser of the amazing character designs!
For those in the Washington DC area on November 20th, I'll be at Labyrinth Games & Puzzles. The very same game store that Jesse of Quackalope considers his home board game store. Break My Game is hosting a playtest event from 3-6pm. I'll be there playtesting We're Sinking, come on by and play!
Hope everyone has a great week and plays some games!
